the Way of the Lord, Make Straight Paths for Him”

神様は私たちにバプテスマのヨハネを通して、呼びかけています。「主の道を整え、その道筋をまっすぐにせよ。」クリスマス−主が来られること−を前にして私たちがすべきこと。それは、主の道を整え、その道筋をまっすぐにすることだと言うのです。まっすぐにしていただくこと。これは極めて大事なことです。まっすぐに開かれていないと、命取りになるからです。
God speaks to us through John the
Baptist. “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.” He says
what we should do before Christmas? before the Lord’s coming?is to prepare the
way for the Lord and make the straight paths for him. To be straightened up.
This is extremely crucial. Because, unless we are not opened up straight, it
could become fatal.

with the Holy Spirit and Fire”

神様は私たちにバプテスマのヨハネは、イエス様がお授けになるバプテスマについて、「聖霊と火によるバプテスマである」と語りました。バプテスマの日、皆さんの魂に起こった出来事は、「聖霊と火によるバプテスマ」だ、と言うのです。でも、思いませんか？「バプテスマを受けて、聖霊をいただいた」、というところまではわかる。でも、「火によるバプテスマ」−これがよく分からない。「水によるバプテスマ」なら分かるけど、というのが正直なところなのではないでしょうか？
「聖霊と火によるバプテスマ」について共に学んでみたいと思います。
John
the Baptist says, the baptism Jesus provides is the baptism with the Holy
Spirit and fire. When I was baptized, I received the Holy Spirit. I get that. But the baptism with fire. I don’t quite get that. I
understand if he says the baptism with water but not sure about the baptism with fire.
This may be our honest comments. Let us learn together about “the
baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

世の問題ばかりに、心が向いていると、問題から問題へと、出口のない状態に引きずり込まれていってしまいます。私も、よく、この落とし穴にはまってしまいます。目の前にある問題で、心がいっぱいになってしまい、ふさぎ込んでしまいます。ではどうすればいいのか？
私たちのなすべきことは、自分自身に向かって語らなければなりません。自分の感情そのものを燃え立たせる努力ではなく、神様に信頼することです。人は自分で幸福感を作りだすことはできませんが、自分に信仰を思い起こさせることは可能です。神様を信頼せよ、と自分自身に命じて、詩編103編の作者にならって、自分のたましいに語りかけることができるのです。「わたしの魂よ、主をたたえよ、主の御計らいを何一つ忘れるな」と。
When
we just look at the worldly things and issues, we are dragged into the pits
without an exit. I often fell into this pitfall. My heart gets occupied with an
issue in front of me, I let that issue to take over me, and I get depressed.
Then what could we do? What we should do is to speak to ourselves. Not try to
burn our emotion itself, but to trust God. We cannot create a sense of happiness
by ourselves, but it is possible for us to remind ourselves of faith.
Like the Psalmist of Psalm 103, we can order ourselves to trust the Lord, and
speak to our own soul, “Praise the Lord, my soul. Forget not all his benefits.”
