東の国の博士たち。この占星術の学者たちは、道を求め、真理を求め、宇宙の神秘を解き明かそうとしていたのでしょう。「生きる意味とは何か」とか、「永遠なる救いとは何か」とか、探していたのでしょうね。そこに星が現れます。見える人には見える、神様の招きが。博士たちは喜びに溢れて、その招きに応えて、そして救い主に出会う。彼らは、イエス様にひれ伏します。そして、自分のもっていた一番の捧げ物を捧げました。黄金、乳香、没薬。どれも、当時では最高級のものです。もらうのではなく、捧げた、与えた訳なのです。もらうのではなくて、最高のものを捧げた。けれども、喜びに満たされて、自分の国へ帰って行っていったのです。彼らは、「与える喜び」を知った。しかも、「最高の方にひれ伏し、最高のものを捧げる喜びを知った」のだと思います。今日は、この博士たちから、「成長」ということについて考えてみたいと思います。

“Please Use Me”  Atsushi Tsuneki

Matthew 2:1-12

The Magi, the wise men, must have been looking for the way and seeking the truth. They must have been searching the answer to the questions like “what is the meaning of our lives?” or “what is eternal salvation?” Then, a star appeared. An invitation from God. The wise men were overjoyed, replied to that invitation. They bowed down and worshipped the Savior! Finally, they found the way to rejoice all the humans and the Truth to save all the people. Then, they gave the best offerings they had. Instead of receiving, they gave, but they were overjoyed! They learned the joy of giving. They learned the joy of bowing down, worshiping, and giving the best to the best one. We’d like to think about “growth” from these wise men today.

皆さんは、いつも喜んでいますか？　確かに、私たちの人生には試練がつきものです。いつもいつも喜んでいられない時もあるでしょう。そんな私たちが、どうすれば、喜んで生きていくことができるのでしょうか。また、どうしたら良いのでしょうか。今日は、1テサロニケ5章の箇所から、いつも喜び、祈り、感謝していられるには、私たちはいったいどうしたら良いのか、皆さんとともに考えてみたいと思っています。
