今日の話は、パウロとバルナバが第一次伝道旅行の中で、イコニオン、そしてリストラという町に行って伝道した時の話です。この箇所は、パウロとバルナバが異邦人たちに伝道した箇所ですが、特に「人を造られた神」ではなく、すぐに「人や物を、神に仕立てようとする」傾向がある日本人にとっては、教えられるべきとことが多い箇所です。パウロとバルナバは、神のように祭り上げられそうになる出来事の中で、どのような行動をとったのでしょうか・・・。
In today’s
passages, Paul and Barnabas went to the cities called Iconium and Lystra to
evangelize to the gentiles during their first mission trip. We can learn lots of things from this
section especially in this culture where people have the tendency to
replace God with human or things instead of worshipping God who created the
humans. What actions did Paul and Barnabas take in the incident that they
were going to be praised like God...?

信仰には励ましが必要です。私たちが神の国に入るには、多くの苦しみを経なければなりません。神様を真剣に慕い求めている人たちの交わりの中で力づけられ、勧められ、励まされ、支えられてこそ、信仰に踏みとどまることができます。人に期待するのではなく、神の恵みを喜び、味わい、感謝する人は、さらに大きな力を得ることができるのです。
We need an
encouragement for the faith. We must go through many tribulations to enter
the kingdom of God. Only because you are strengthened, encouraged, and
supported in a fellowship with those who seek and pursue God passionately, you
can continue in the faith. Instead of expecting other people, those who enjoy,
taste, and give thanks for the grace of God can gain even greater strength.
